Time spent blogging?

How much time do I spend on my weblogs?

A question asked recently. It depends. There are weeks when I barely think of them. I try to make sure something goes in Amorous Propensities and Gullibility isn't in the dictionary at least a couple of times a week. Luckily or unhappily the human race on many days the human race obliges with me with almost too many stories to note there.

Computer Toaster, Diversions and Books Do Furnish A Room suffer in that many times I'm trying to get something in before I forget it. I often post in them when I have little time, am on my way to work or about to do something with Charles.

When I'm writing for this weblog, Pansexual Sodomite, the most I spend an entry is an hour. Those are the two thousand word autobiographical entries. Often Charles is away (as he is now) doing a fill-in gig as organist for a church in Raleigh. I put on a CD and relax by typing away.

I get a great deal of pleasure in talking about myself. It isn't vanity. What else do I know enough about? I'm not an paleoanthropologist, musicologist, historian or literary critic. I absolutely will not say blogging is therapeutic. Writing things out loud, as it were, is clarifying. But therapy would imply that posting in my weblog is curative.

Oh yeah, how much time do I spend weblogging. Writing" anywhere from five minutes to two hours (I do have six of the damn things). If I weren't too lazy to edit my entries the time would probably triple. Many of the links on sexuality and atheism come from my routine browsing.

When I have the time to really go through my Live Journal friends list and wander among the Queerfilter links the time can add up. But with patience finding the folks whose writing you enjoy is a great pleasure. Some are ordinary gay guys who invoke your sympathy; others tell good stories or have remarkable things to say.

If I live long enough I'll see online journals and diaries written by people who started them as kids. Wonder how, even if, that'll make life a little different. If I'd had a weblog at fourteen my daddy really would've made me go to military school, Bob Jones University and he threatened or simply beat me to death.
