Reading of a search for pretty Christmas angels I revive this old entry.

My search for male androgyny turned to Symbolist painters. Neither Elihu Vedder nor William Bouguereau were given much to painting young men. Indeed it looks as though Vedder’s model for Cupid was a young girl.
