While reading the life of Augustus I encountered the Roman conception of romantic love: friendship gone mad. Having known that madness who am I to argue.
Sadly even with the hurt it has inflicted that madness still seems a worthy goal. The goal.
I keep telling myself to put it aside. But it seems a typical example of wisdom that it all too hard to live up to.
