Reply to someone with a lover who also enjoys one nighters:
Not me. I’m wholly monogamous. Which isn’t in the least meant as a criticism. I know people who have happy highly polyamorous lives involving a relationship with someone they are deeply committed to. I suspect that is a wiser practice that strict monogamy but didn’t consider it when I was younger. Actually, last night I was trying to remember anyone I’d lusted after when I lived with a woman for five years. I can remember pretty boys I saw for thirty seconds twenty years ago. Those five years are blank. I may be inescapably monogamous.
