I'd planned to thank each of you individually. Forgive me for sending my thanks to all of you as a group.
I think most of you understand that with the ice storm and the hours Charles and my bookshop often require of me that I sometimes find myself left with scanty time to spare.
To each of you that sent Charles a get well card I want to express my strongest, most tender thanks. He was genuinely delighted and touched. And I was equally warmed and boosted that you took the time.
However, apallingly weak it may seem, Charles is the center of my life. Anything that makes his days better adds immeasurably to mine.
